Nearly Died

When I saw this friendly guy on my mailbox as I was walking by.

Dear Foxwood Residents,

If anyone has lost their (illegally kept) pet snake, I have found it. It is on my mailbox. Dead. Please remove it, so I can check my mail without screaming.

Thanks,
Susan

Sometimes

I feel like nursing school is just one big hoop that I have to jump through. And every semester the hoop gets taller, and I lose the strength and desire to jump. Still, I do it anyways in the hopes that it will all be worth it one day. That or I'll drop dead from exhaustion and none of this will matter anyways.

Happy Finals!

One day I'll blog about my trip to Paris. Until then, enjoy this picture.

How to improve employee morale

While I was at work today a little girl came by and discretely dropped this note off on my desk. Best part of my day, and that's saying something. I got free breakfast at work and there was bacon involved.

In other news, I turned 21 last Friday. Not sure how I feel about that. Turned out to be a good birthday though. One of the best.

French Lessons

I'm going to France in November with my family, and my dad keeps bugging me to practice my French.

Mission accomplished I'd say.

Epic Fail

I got this back from a presentation I did a few weeks ago.
That's right. Straight zeros. I didn't even know that you could prepare and present a project and still get no points at all.

These were all her notes on my presentation. But, don't worry, she left me with some great final words.

I think this semester is starting out well, don't you?

I suppose we are related after all..

Why my dad and I feel the need to pose like this, I do not know.

But apparently I have the same interests as a 6 year old.

And dress like a 2 year old. Awesome. People are right, I do like to wear costumes.

Tales from a Fat Kid

So late one night, I drive over to Heritage to pick up Stefi from EFY for a sonic run. The order went something like this.

  • 1 small chicken sandwhich
  • 1 small hamburger
  • 1 order mozzarella sticks
  • 1 small corn dog
  • 1 small cheesy frito wrap
  • 1 small cool breeze drink
  • 1 chocolate malk
  • 1 lime cream slush

Grand total: $13.57

The server sounded dumbfounded asking us if that was it. Clearly he does not know us very well.

Harry Potter, Harry Potter, Harry Potter, Harry Potter!

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
came out yesterday!

Unfortunately, we could not go see it at midnight since most of my friends have real jobs or something weird like that, so we went at 7:45 pm. Which was almost better since we were the only people dressed up haha, and we of course got some very strange looks. A friend from home asked me if this was a costume. I said sarcastically, "No, I wear this all the time."
His response: "I don't know, I've seen you in this outfit before."

Ahh.. the life of a nerd

I made pumpkin pasties, chocolate frogs, and licorice wands.

I think at the next movie premiere, I'm going to branch out and sell these suckers. Look how cute!

Introducing..

Jarrett William Puente!

Born June 21, 2009 at 8:52 am
8 pounds 6 oz.
21 inches long

My favorite sister, okay, my only sister, Jennifer had a baby boy on Father's Day. Needless to say, she didn't buy her husband anything.

But the best part is...I got to suprise my family and come home for it. I drove home Saturday and nearly gave my parents a heart attack when they saw me in their garage. I had been talking to my mom on and off all day, and she kept asking me what I was doing. Oh you know just hanging out, a.k.a. driving through Nevada.

Anyways, welcome to the fam, Jarrett. And in case you were wondering, my family is now 4 for 4 on grandkids having "J" names. Sigh. Curse of the Carr's.He loves his Auntie Susan. Notice how peacefully he is sleeping in my arms.

He's a little more upset about Jeff holding him. I'm just kidding my brother-in-law is a great dad.

Bored Blogging

Being stuck inside this apartment (or quarantined if you will) really sucks.

On the plus side, Stefi and I made this today. Great way to spend my endless amounts of time.

Stephanie and Chris brought me some flowers today because I've been so sick lately. They are so sweet. Bryce then told me that he was going to put them on my grave when I die of swine flu. Thanks.

Wedding Fun

Last Friday I had the opportunity to help my roommate Stefi with her sister, Sarah's wedding. It was such a beautiful wedding, and I honestly had so much fun helping out.

And since I got the flu on Monday and have been down for the count since then, I have decided to blog about my wedding involvement.

I drove up to Holladay at 9 am, wrote down Stefi's address wrong, but got there ok in the end. I was then put to work making some centerpieces. I wish I could take credit for the design here. But I think they turned out just lovely.

Sarah's toss bouquet

And her real bouquet. Ignore the obnoxious look on my face.

Another cute piece. Everything was so adorable. I seriously only followed directions

An abnormally large amount of brown and pink candy and desserts.

The best part of the wedding was definately the time I got to spend with Stefi. I missed her so much while she was gone doing wedding stuff all week. Don't Go!!

I need a job

Last night I made chicken pot pie. Without chicken for myself.

So it's been a lonely weekend.
Then this happened...

So turns out I'm lonely and fat.
But boy am I talented. Thats right, I embroidered my blood pressure cuff. I've reached a whole new level of boredom.

Pillow Talk

Stefi and I often have to force ourselves out of bed in the morning. Sometimes we end up talking and not really getting up. Today this is how the conversation went..

Stefi: "I had a dream I was someone's bridesmaid and she didn't even know my name. It was really sad and awkward."

Susan: "I had a dream that I ate 3 donuts. I'm hungry."

Stefi: "Oh, Skus"

Oh you know, a little of this, a little of that

People often ask me, "Susan, what do you do all day at work."

Well, that is a very good question...

Well, we make Bouquets.

Hundreds and Hundreds

Of bouquets..

Using classy things like pearl loops

And when it's all done,

I dart off to a cabin in Idaho..

And visit Yellowstone

Wait for Old Faithful to go off (dont look so anxious John)

And feed squirrels. Naturally.

Back to California

I went home to Morgan Hill this past weekend. It was a short bittersweet trip. I realized how much I missed my family but also how much I have come to see Provo as my home. But here are a few highlights for your enjoyment!

We visited my favorite Indian restaurant, Sneha. Interestingly also the name of one of my very good friends from high school. Almost as interesting as the Indian server who kept hitting on me, and I think who wanted me to follow him to the back room. Errrr.

Walking my fat dog.

At least she's cute.

Seeing my cute bald grandpa. And yes he was watching Spanish soccer. In Spanish. And no, he does not understand a word of it. Except maybe, GOL!!!!!!!

My sister is having a baby boy in June. So, her shower was the main reason I went home. All she had to do was ask.

I love how little my grandma is compared to me. Because I am little myself.

My adorable niece. I know everyone says this, but she is a genius. She even won some of the party games.

The Gilroy Outlets. This picture does not begin to describe the craziness that is the Coach Outlet on a Saturday. Women everywhere. Going crazy. And a corner full of guys waiting for their wives and the madness to be over.
